What is IABC CommuniCon?
Not a long time ago, in a galaxy not so far away, a group of intrepid souls embarked on a journey to bring a unique professional development opportunity to Saskatchewan’s communicators; one that supports IABC’s purpose to advance the profession, create connection and develop strategic communicators. IABC CommuniCon is their brainchild – a one-day conference which boldly goes where no communicator has gone before. Exploring uncharted territory in the field, IABC CommuniCon is a must-attend event for communications professionals navigating an ever-changing digital world, responding to increasing demand for innovative solutions, and looking for fresh strategies to add to their professional ‘toolkit.’
What is the theme of IABC CommuniCon?
Exploring a brave new world in communications, IABC CommuniCon will travel down the wormhole to tackle some of the most testing challenges professional communicators face today. Our first keynote will address communications and meaningful engagement between Indigenous and non Indigenous peoples; our closing keynote will focus on reputation management and how communicators can advise on the best use of digital strategies for crises.
Informative breakout sessions will cover topics such as conversational intelligence, building better campaigns with sound methodological research, and lessons for professional communicators in the wake of the Humboldt bus tragedy. We are proud to be welcoming some the most highly-respected and sought-after communications professionals in Canada as speakers.
Where is it being held?
The Radisson Hotel in the home of IABC YXE – beautiful Saskatoon, Saskatchewan! If you’re a resident of Saskatoon, don’t miss out on this fantastic PD opportunity right on your doorstep. If you’re coming from out-of-town, it’ll be well worth the journey and we look forward to welcoming you to our awesome city! PS… did you know that Saskatoon is the only Canadian city featured in the New York Times ‘list of places to visit in 2018’.
